With the Cardiff School of Medicine as a major international centre for teaching and research, located in one of the UK’s top cities for conferences, meetings and conventions, it is only natural that medical planners and their delegates have gravitated towards Cardiff as a destination for their event.
In recent years, the city has played host to The Association of British Neurologists Annual Meeting who took over the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. Brilliant minds from across the country and abroad gathered to share experiences in research and clinical practice with a focus on inspiring the younger generation to pursue neurology. The venue provided state-of-the-art lecture theatres and ample space for mingling and discussion.
Within the past year, Cardiff hosted events for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, British Association of Urological Surgeons, British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and rehabilitation, Consultants Surgeons Conference and European Congress of Dental Maxillofacial Radiology
Forthcoming events include The Society for Acute Medicine’s spring meeting which will be located in one of Cardiff’s largest conference hotels, the Mercure Holland House hotel, which has a capacity of 700.
A capital city, compact, with character and connectivity, Cardiff is a city on the move, with an eclectic choice of venues from historic and quirky, to contemporary and purpose-built, plus a range of hotels to suit all budgets, Cardiff offers a great experience and exceptional value for money.
Just 2 hours by train, Cardiff is the closest capital to London, Cardiff International Airport is just 20 minutes away and easily accessible by car or shuttle. It is the 15 minute city, where top hotels and conference venues are all centrally located, with key attractions such as National Museum, Cardiff Castle and the Principality Stadium also right in the heart of the city.
