Conference & Events Manager, The University of South Wales

Gemma joined the Conference & Events team back in 1998 under the former University of Glamorgan organisation.  Over the past 18 years, Gemma has worked in various roles within the department taking on the management position in 2006.  Following a merger in 2013 and the formation of the University of South Wales (USW), Gemma is now responsible for the team and event delivery across the portfolio of venues in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd.

Gemma is still very much involved in the operational event management side of the business, with a passion for delivering high quality events to both a national and international audience in South Wales.  This passion has driven the creation of an expanded event management service and the recruitment of a number of USW Conference Ambassadors through the delivery of highly successful events.  Gemma has worked with the Cardiff Convention Bureau since 1998 and is very appreciative of the services and invaluable support the team at Visit Cardiff / Meet Cardiff provide; to venues, event organisers and delegates alike.

Gemma’s career highlights to date include managing the TUCO Conference in 2013 and being the logistical lead at USW as a partner venue for the NATO Summit in 2014.
