CARDIFF HAS STRONG TRANSPORT LINKS SO TRAVELLING HERE COULDN’T BE EASIER…

Cardiff is an easily accessible city; with so many ways to travel here there’s really no excuse for not paying us a visit. We have our own Cardiff Airport, regular high-speed rail links from London, the M4 motorway passes around the north of the city and you could even arrive by sea!

BY AIR

Cardiff Airport offers direct flights to cities including Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, Geneva, Barcelona, Milan, Venice, and Rome, as well as connecting routes to more than 900 destinations worldwide.

GETTING FROM CARDIFF AIRPORT

Trains run between the Airport and Cardiff Central station every hour, with a shuttle bus linking the Airport station (Rhoose) to the airport terminal.

Flightlink Wales offers reliable airport shuttle services, either exclusive or shared, taking you directly from the arrivals hall to your hotel. The service mainly operates from Cardiff Airport but also links Bristol, Heathrow and Gatwick Airports to Cardiff.

BY RAIL

Cardiff is under two hours from London by train, with services every 30 minutes. Cardiff also has direct routes to Bristol, Bath, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, and other main towns and cities, as well as the ports at Southampton and Portsmouth. Cardiff Central Station is very conveniently located in the city centre, close to hotels and venues.

DISCOUNTED GWR CONFERENCE FARES

Meet Cardiff was the first destination to package special rail fares with GWR to offer special rail fares to conference delegates travelling to Cardiff for a business event. This exclusive deal applies to delegates travelling from main GWR stations including London Paddington on GWR services to Cardiff.

BY ROAD

Cardiff is easily accessible via the M4 motorway, which runs through the north of the city, with central London only a 3 hour drive away. From the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland it is a straightforward drive via the M6, M5 and M50/M4. From the South and South West of England the approach is by the M5 and M4. Access from West Wales is by the M4.

BY SEA

If you’re arriving in the UK by ferry at Portsmouth or Southampton, there are easy, direct train connections from these port cities to Cardiff. The ferry ports also link with the national motorway system to provide fast access to Cardiff.

You can also travel by ferry from Rosslare in Ireland to either Fishguard or Pembroke in West Wales. These ports then connect to Cardiff by train and road.

For details of trains go to National Rail.

If you’re lucky enough to have your own boat, there are short-term moorings in Cardiff Bay, and also moorings available in nearby Penarth.
