We hope you are enjoying your time in Las Vegas this week. Did you know that Cardiff has some things in common with the entertainment capital?

Tom Jones

Tom Jones, a Welsh born singer, spent many years performing in Las Vegas and sang with stars including Elvis Presley. This year he returned to the ‘green, green grass of home’ and performed at Cardiff Castle.

Nearly 2000 years old and located just a stone’s throw away from the shops, attractions, and hotels, the Castle boasts lavish rooms that can be used for meetings for up to 100 delegates, and it can even host open air events for up to 9,000 people.

The Royal Mint

The Las Vegas strip is famous for its casinos and the vast amount of money spent on the slot machines and games on the casino floors. But did you know that in the UK, the Royal Mint, now based just a short drive from Cardiff, have struck the coins of British monarchs for more than a thousand years!

From making money to medals the Welsh site still operates today, and visitors can get behind-the-scenes access with a tour guide or hire the unique venue for a variety of meetings and events.

Principality Stadium

The Allegiant Stadium, home to the Las Vegas Raiders, has a retractable natural turf field that can moved for events – just like the Principality Stadium in Cardiff city centre.

With this flexibility, its retractable roof, and the variety of conference spaces, the Principality Stadium is often voted as one of the Europe’s premier venues. It’s also played host to global events such as WWE: Clash at the Castle and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.
